Attention! Do Not Mix These Household Products. They Can Kill You
Sometimes it can be really dangerous when mixing different household ingredients. Few people know that some combinations release toxic gases which make a real health threat, especially concerning the lungs and the brain.
Here are some advices you should know in order to protect yours and your family’s health.
- Baking soda and vinegar
Combining baking soda with vinegar can be really effective for cleaning. But not for health! The baking soda or sodium bicarbonate reacts with the acetic acid which is found in vinegar. As a result, it’s producing sodium acetate, carbon dioxide and water. Moreover, vinegar triggers the bubbling in the baking soda, which results in explosion if these two ingredients are mixed and put in a closed container.
- Chlorine bleach and vinegar
All acids, including the vinegar, are very dangerous if they are combined with chlorine since it releases toxic chlorine gas.
- Ammonia and Bleach
This combination can lead to formation of toxic fumes-mostly chloramines. They are very dangerous for a person’s eyes. This gas must not be ever inhaled.
- Hydrogen peroxide and Vinegar
It’s mostly used as a cleaning device, but this combination is another STOP, since it results in formation of peracetic acid which is extremely dangerous, causes skin and eyes injuries, as well as it harms the respiratory system.
- Bleach and Rubbing alcohol
The mixture of bleach and rubbing alcohol is combination of hydrochloric acid and chloroform which is extremely dangerous. Using bleach separately is much safer option.
- Two different cleaners
Mixing two cleaners, for example- some universal cleaner with a window cleaner, usually should give better results. But actually, each cleaner has its particular purpose and mixing two different types can become quite dangerous.
